          Bedingfeld Park Expansion Project

      $5.55 m of government funding secured


The Board of Management of Bedingfeld Park Inc. (BPI) are very pleased to announce that their Stage 1 Expansion Project has received a massive boost with a total of $5.55 million of government funding secured.

The Minister for the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, Alannah MacTiernan, and local MLA, Robyn Clarke, visited Bedingfeld Park on the 2 July to confirm that BPI had been successful in its application for $2.0 million from the state government's Regional Aged Accommodation Program.

Then on 9 July, the Minister for Regional Development, Territories and Local Government, the Hon Dr John McVeigh, accompanied Andrew Hastie MP on a visit to Bedingfeld Park to announce the allocation of $3.55 million from the federal government's Building Better Regions Fund.

These grants will allow BPI to progress the proposed construction of a  $7.1 million state-of-the art 25 suite high care accommodation wing. This wing has been specifically designed to provide first class residential care for people living with dementia and will see the Murray Shire's only residential aged care facility increased in size to 70 beds.

The BPI board wish to express their appreciation for all the assistance they have received in the preparation of the funding applications and continued support for the project which has culminated with the confirmation of these exciting announcements.
