Bedingfeld Park provides accommodation for the frail aged who have been approved for residential care by the Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT)
The facility has individual suites, comprising a bedroom with ensuite bathroom, suitable for residents with low care needs.
There are 10 suites designed for caring for residents with high care needs.
Residents who are admitted as low care can “age in place” and be re-assessed as needing high care and remain at Bedingfeld Park.
Bedingfeld Park has a small secure wing for residents with dementia. There are 8 suites, again comprising a bedroom and ensuite bathroom. The unit has a its own lounge area, dining room and delightful secure garden courtyard.
Bedingfeld Park can also provide short-term respite care for residents who are living in the community and cared for by family and friends. These residents need to be assessed by the Aged Care Assessment Team for eligibility. This room can be booked to ensure family members can take holidays.
Staff is available 24hrs a day, 7 days a week to assist residents with activities of daily living. All staff employed at Bedingfeld Park as Carers have obtained their Certificate 111 in Aged Care and have provided a current national police clearance. Each resident has a call bell situated in their bedroom and bathroom to ensure assistance is close at hand if needed.
There are 3 nurses working at Bedingfeld Park who are able to assess residents care needs, develop care plans in consultation with the resident and family and provide clinical nursing support for the Certificate 3 Carers.
The nursing staff also advocate for the residents with their medical practitioners to ensure the residents remain at optimum health.
Residents can choose to remain with their own doctor or can be seen by the doctor from a Pinjarra surgery who visits the facility weekly.
Bedingfeld Park also provides access for the residents to visit a Podiatrist, Physiotherapist, Speech Therapist and Occupational Therapist as required. Bedingfeld Park also has access to services such as Residential Care Line and Peel, Rockingham and Kwinana Mental Health for older People service.
engage residents in activities such as craft mornings, bingo, social outings, in-house entertainment, the garden club and many other varied activities. There are several lounge rooms situated throughout the facility, all with televisions. Each bedroom has an antenna connection and Bedingfeld Park is able to offer digital television reception, even if your television is an analogue version. A Happy Hour is held every Friday afternoon in the main lounge, usually with some entertainment.
